Chapter Two: The Mother’s Covenant
The Sacred Bond
1 In the beginning of life, the Creator knit the mother and child together in a hidden place, forging a bond unbroken by time.
2 As a river gives water to the parched land, so the mother’s touch nourisheth the spirit of her offspring, bringing peace to the heart.
3 The child who abideth in this bond shall grow in trust, and his spirit shall know security even in the face of storms.
4 And if the bond be shattered, the child wandereth in shadows, forsaken of hope, and becometh a stranger unto his own heart.
5 Therefore the Lord calleth upon the children of men to honour and protect this bond, for in it lieth the promise of mercy and renewal.
6 Blessed are they who cherish the bond, for their lineage shall be faithful, and their cities shall know justice.
